 THE BUTTERFLY CLUB

For children with severe, complex and profound learning disabilities

The Butterfly Club aims to provide a holiday club for the children of James MacFarlane and Haysholm special needs schools to reduce their isolation, improve their quality of life and to support them to be able to take part in activities other children take for granted.  We are a constituted, non-profit making voluntary community group and a registered charity, formed by the parents of these schools.

WE DID IT !!!

With determination, sheer devotion and hard work the committee, parents and friends have raised a total of £25,299.72 giving the young people 2 days every week at the summer club running from Monday 11th July - Thursday 4th August 2011.

This summer  we worked in partnership with Cornerstone to provide us with the summer club, we employed 16 local support workers and 3 volunteers who enjoyed every minute working with our very special kids.  The committee would like to thank them for all their hard work and commitment.  We look forward to working with the staff again next year.

Fundraising Continues .....

If you would like to help raise funds, organise events or donate to The Butterfly Club, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the committee, through our Facebook page or Donate through MyDonate BT funding page.

We are planning to hold several events throughout the year.  Emma Morgan is organising a Clairvoyant Night with Sally Buxton.  Our annual Butterfly Bash will be held on Saturday 12th May 2012 @ Castlepark Community Center.  We are looking for volunteers to join us on a Ben Nevis climb.  More details will follow.

Collection tins are available so far the total has reached £1815.40.

Grants

We have applied to BBC Children in Need for a large grant but competition for funding is extremely fierce and we won't know till February 2012 the outcome of our application.  We will also apply to different funders for smaller grants.  fingers crossed.

We need your support.  We are applying to RBS community force which help fund projects with £6000.
